    July 19, 2018

On November 3, 2018 Peninsula Youth Theatre (PYT) in cooperation with The Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts (MVCPA) will present a single performance of their play Junie B Jones is NOT a Crook!, arranged specifically for the Autistic and Sensory Sensitive Community. There will also be a second sensory friendly performance of Babe the Sheep Pig, February 16, 2019. The performance offers guests and families living with autism or other special needs an opportunity to enjoy "Stories on Stage" in a safe and accepting environment. An inclusive space is being created with special considerations such as scaled-down production elements (lights, sound, etc.), extra wheelchair accommodations, and a quiet zone outside the performance space. We are currently seeking organizations and/or individuals interested in sponsoring these upcoming performances as well as helping get the word out about these special shows to the community. Parties interested in sponsorship or partnering in any way should contact Susannah Greenwood at Susannah@mvcpa.com.

    More About These Performances:

A wonderful 81 patrons attended the inaugural sensory-friendly performance held at MCVPA's SecondStage on January 20, 2018. 100% of the 10 audience attendees who responded to a post-performance custom survey agreed the offering was valuable and would definitely attend another sensory friendly performance at the MVCPA. 60% of attendees answering the survey said they had NOT attended a sensory friendly performance before, further emphasizing that we are providing an important offering for our community.
